your host, let me tell you a little about my company
and myself.
Been
There Yet? is the adventurous sister of a traditional
brick and mortar retail travel agency that I opened
in 1996, in the small town of Royersford, PA. It
grew steadily through the end of the 20th century,
and several months ago, we merged with another travel
agency located nearby. This new business relationship
leaves me in the enviable position of being free to
pursue two things that I love to do; helping clients
plan the exotic journeys that they’ve always
dreamed about, and traveling to those destinations
that truly inspire me.
Although
I call myself a travel consultant, I really consider
myself to be a dream-maker. Many
of our clients have a desire to experience the extraordinary
and remarkable places they have dreamed of since their
childhood. It is my happy task to make those dreams a reality. The
driving force behind my desire to help plan the perfect
journey for you is my absolute love of travel. I
organize each trip as though I were going along and
take every opportunity to learn about the places that
interest our clients by visiting as many destinations
as possible. I am always looking for the next travel adventure.
My
personal travel adventures began shortly after graduating
from college. My
husband and I lived overseas for seven of the next
eleven years. We
spent two years, on our own, exploring Latin America,
Europe, Egypt and Greece. The
other five years, I served in Africa, as a foreign
service officer, with the U.S. Agency For International
Development (USAID). Those
were such wonderful times. One
evening, when we’re sitting by the campfire in
the Masai Mara, remember to ask me how the safari guide
chased an elephant out of camp one night. As
a result of those fantastic experiences and many others,
I have already visited 65 countries on six continents. Among
other things, we have driven to Panama twice; delivered
supplies to missionaries deep in the Amazon; flown
a twin-engine airplane across the North Atlantic from
Pennsylvania to Kenya; and hiked the mountains of Rwanda
in search of mountain gorillas. At
one time or another, we have traveled by airplane,
helicopter, train, bus, jeep, ship, ferry, dhow, canoe,
and on foot to reach our destination. And
guess what? I’d
do it all over again!!!
Is
there some travel dream I can help you fulfill? Just
e-mail, phone or fax me, my bags are already packed
and standing by the door!!
Yours
in travel,
Cynthia Kemner
