Journey Highlights

Your Amazon expedition begins in a nation on the brink of change, with remote mountains and vast tracts of jungle until recently unmapped and thought impenetrable, Brazil provides a unique opportunity to see the Amazon rainforest of ancient times.  The Rubber Baron’s capital of Manaus is the gateway to exploring the diverse flora and indigenous villages of the Amazon River and the its tributaries by Amazon River cruise or ecolodge stay in the deep cover of the rainforest.

Brazil’s geographic diversity extends to Iguassu Falls in the south, and to the western wetlands of the Pantanal, where capybaras, pacas, caimans,

tapir, jaguar and monkeys abound, and where birds in breeding season crowd the trees with a cacophony of sound.  But to many, the jewels of Brazil are her cities, from instantly familiar beaches and “sugar loaf” peaks and pulsating samba rhythms of Rio de Janeiro, to the carnavalesque Salvador, Brazil’s heart and soul and a repository of colonial churches, rainbow hued homes and markets, and African folklore.  In the gem-filled mountains west of Rio the “museum city” of Ouro Preto is a UNESCO World Heritage Site offering a living record of Colonial Brazil during its fabulous 100 year gold rush, while Recife and Olinda are the capitals of the Northeast, combining atmospheric old quarters, splendid beaches and a rich blend of Portuguese and African traditions.

Our programs require minimum 2 guests to operate and may be taken independently to create a complete Brazilian experience. All tour rates are valid till December 15, 2001.

Rates are not valid during Carnival and Christmas / New Years period.
