Day 1: Arrive Iguassu Falls, Brazilian side
Your guide will escort you from the airport to your luxury hotel in the national park overlooking the falls, a natural wonderland of subtropical rainforest, richly inhabited by birds, monkeys, armadillos, jaguars, and endangered giant otters.  Then set out on a walking tour of the falls' Brazilian side.  Try the catwalks through the rainforest to a special lookout where the view of the deafening cascade plunges to an abyss, hidden by the vapor clouds. Guaraní legend says that Iguassu Falls originated when a jealous forest god, enraged by a warrior escaping downriver by canoe with a young girl, caused the riverbed to collapse in front of the lovers, producing the precipitous falls.  Day 2: Iguassu Falls, Argentine side
A morning excursion takes you to the Argentina side of the falls for closer, more intimate views.  The afternoon is at leisure, or perhaps choose an optional tour of the area, such as a visit to Parque das Aves with its fine collection of birds from the area housed in huge walk-in habitats.  Or try a sunset walk to the falls, when the foam and mist turn gold above the deep blue twilight water.  Hotel Das Cataratas (B)
